From Hobby to LLC
How It Started
My name is Tiera Masters and I'm the Owner and Founder of Up Crown Designs LLC. This started as a hobby New Years 2020, just something to do when I wasn't doing anything. One day I was browsing google for SVG/PNG files to practice making shirts. I came across a website that had all types of files geared towards the African American culture. There was one image that caught my eye. It was an image of a black woman with an afro. Inside that afro was different words that described black women. Words like: Queen, beautiful, happy, strong, melanin, loved, etc. I made the shirt in full glitter vinyl, posted it on FaceBook, and the rest is history.

Fast forward 6 years later and we're a vendor for the Sigma Chi Psi sorority as well as their Brothers, Gamma Sigma Gamma fraternity. We've generated over 600,000 views on TikTok. We've been featured 4 times in Vogue Dallas and Bold Journey. We've made over 10,000+ t-shirts for companies like: PT's Fried Chicken and Fish, Capitol One, Dart Police, DISD Police, the Regional Police Academy in Arlington, TX, as well as the Dallas County Sheriff's Department and many other small businesses and organizations all while pursuing a career in Law Enforcement. Our goal is to go from a small business to a well known corporation.
